OMC Johnson 225 no rpm signal and not charging

    Hi!

So my old Johnson 225 V6 is not charging and dont give any signal to rpm meter. Changed first rpm meter because it is old and not working and then find that it is not giving any charging either. Have read that high possible problem is in rectifier...
I have Powerpack 586662 24 C1D-BA in my motor. Anyone can advice what is the correct rectifier? Ignition is very good and it will start very nicely.

That engine has a rectifier/regulator. It is water cooled and mounted in the top of the block under the power pack. It could be the cause of no charging and loss of the tach, but the stator should be checked first.

Stator was fine. Water pump was not fine it had melted from over heating....old owner had replaced impeller only. Cooling circulation was bad and it had burned rectifier. New pump and new rectifier is on it´s way so lets see how it works.

make sure you use a wet cell battery and the terminals dont have wing nuts, those 90 degree looper charging systems are very fussy
