    I agree with the above , ur still to deep. U gotta get the bottom of the case on top of the water at full speed , u just added more drag with the cone cause its still under the water , that's bout only good explanation unless u lost a cyl

    Submerged the coned gear case has more drag = slower. If he needs the motor low to carry the bow, then the cone isn’t going to help.

    JUST an fyi, you say a chopper doesnt work for you? thats a sure clue the motor is low. choppers are horrible when too low. they are king for bow lift or a scorpion thru-hub. are you sure the cone is exactly in line with propshaft? some use a laser/ level jig, just brainstormin..

    Last year I had some 5 or 6 older Promaxes (no vent holes) re-bored to accept the Mercury vent plug kit.
    Happy clients - but I was too occupied with personal things to take qualitative numbers.
    Trophy and Mazco also good results.
