Well one call back... no jets anymore, and only 2 dealers in the country are showing any of the 60's on hand.
Anyone know who built these carbs? I have a hard time believing that OMC made everything themselves... lol

Assuming psi was with carbs open, if it was mine I'd cut the heads or gaskets if possible to get a decent psi to start, don't care what the book says. Unless that's impossible to do. Then use that fat setup and see what's up.

Actually that PSI was actually closed and cold.. I didn't realize my stick holding the throttle open fell off. (hotfoot)
I'd like to make it run out before I start cutting heads and such.
The Fat set up doesn't run out is the issue. It wont' get on plane. For a "150" which is the max for the hull... it should get up and on plane with ease and it flat out doesn't.
64C jets are a step above for a 235hp... so being hugely over I really think is doing more harm than good. Even if I could go down ONE size, I think it would help. But for sure 2.. maybe even 4....

Easier to cut heads than scrounge up jets! LOL
What's stock 120ish? Personally I'd go 145+ to start with and good 91 no alcohol. Compression is your friend!

Except I don't have gaskets or a machine shop that's worth a damn anywhere near me. As soon as I say 2 stroke they run away...
So it may sadly be easier to find jets...
I don't think these ran that much compression stock.

You can ship out heads easy enough..
And cutting is a two for one .. like fmp said
Extra comp and not paying scrounging up jets..oh yours are only $10 but $60...if you only need one set getting it right the first time.
Cutting heads Is $200 plus shipping..LETS GO BRANDON.... LETS GO BRANDON

Nobody that could cut a couple heads anywhere?
Big flat piece of glass and sandpaper, mark your depth all around the perimeter of the head and hope for best! Seen it done perfectly!

FMP.. that scares me... LOL
$200 plus shipping... and how much time. I need this thing in a couple weeks for tourneys.
Why are jets so hard to find? LOL
Man maybe I should get this damn thing to run then sell it and buy a Looper or a damn 4 stroke... (if I win the lottery I'm buying an OXE diesel)

Sandpaper, tape and a piece of glass borrowed from the neighbours kitchen window isn't cheap either! But it worked!
I can't believe you can hand the heads to a local shop and have them cut some off.

If the heads are on it and you can find the same thickness gaskets, (Maybe you can find thinner and presto!) then check the clearance. Lead solder in the hole looped around and over the deflector, turn motor over by hand, measure the dent in the solder. Probably 1/8" now lol. Just to get a good number so you know. Say it's at 120 psi not oiled up and wet with fuel and storage oil , carbs open. Just a guess but 0.020" off to start. Don't cut into the ramp for starters. I'm sure Racer or one of the other brains here have the number based on the head and gasket used.
Good thing is you've got the Wisecos!Last edited by FMP; 05-08-2020 at 03:01 PM.
