Well the good news is I have great charging voltage now. Bad news is my RPMs read about half what they should. Usually around 50mph I see 4000 - 4200 if I recall. I was getting around 2000 with the new rectifiers/regulators. I may need to pull the gauge and see if there are switches on the back I can tweak.

Well well well, what was a good charging voltage for a couple days on the water went south yesterday when I noticed my tach stopped working and my volt gauge was only reading ~12.3v under load. Pulled the hood off today as I suspected something with the new rectifires and found this:

    Those are: https://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Voltage...53.m2749.l2649

    I ordered 2 more of these: https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-VOLTAGE...53.m2749.l2649

$50 more for the set, but fingers crossed that being more expensive will mean a little better quality.

honestly, I have run the eBay ones for years now and had no problem. For $25, I carry a spare. Replace them in pairs.

My water cooled rectifier just went out on my XR4. I think my system is the 40v because of the red flywheel and this style rectifier. I just need to figure out some part numbers for the 5 wire trigger to replace my 2 wire, and then a couple rectifiers/regulators.

If you don’t really need the 40 amps, put on a 16 amp flywheel and stator and one rec/reg

    Roy,
That's what I did, too. Most of my festivities are well over 3K rpm so the 16A has been just fine for my purposes

Ok I’m going to do that. I’m having trouble locating a 16 amp flywheel. Do either of you guys have a part number for that, or know where to get one that isn’t $500? Same goes for the 16 amp stator. I think I’m showing the part number for that one as 174-5456-16.

You might look into these. You use one of these for the 40-amp system... and no water-cooled bull****. I had to buy a special crimper...Aircraft Tool Supply #E300-005
