We don't have any issues with warrenty claims. (Not they we have many) What have you had problems with?

It comes down to a couple things.

1: EPA compliance. Its not just the OEMs that don't want you flashing. Look at what happend with the aftermarket diesel tuners a few years ago.

2: OEMs don't want to risk you breaking parts and then having to foot the bill or deny you. And no matter what anyone says the owner usually won't say "well I tuned it beyond its designed power level and it broke so its on me" they say "I spent all this damn money and they won't even warrenty XYZ so they suck" its a lose lose.

I have NEVER had a claim denied by mercury that was there fault. I've even had them replace some stuff that was obviously NOT there fault under customer relations claims. I FSM that a cust filled with water and siezed the pump was the most recent. They specifically said to inform the cust that this IS NOT warrenty work and they wont be covering it again but they sent a FSM and all he paid was labor.

I'm sure other OEMs do similar

Friends lower unit that had defected gears. Said it was a impact break. Broke not a nick and shaft straight as an arrow. All paint still on lower. He had to file a claim on insurance.... Seen few others similar also.

Could the flash have something to do with emission engine? Just like cars/trucks "legally" can't flash them?

Was the Flash on the 275s the same for Generation 1 and Generation 2 Verado's. I know the oiling changed a little, and possibly different cam profile. But was the tune the same???? I think they made 315 on the dyno when finished. Does anyone know. This is the whipple tune FYI not the Simon Tune.

I have thought about putting a Holley ECU on some of these like I run on the drag car. I would have unlimited I/O and capability. I would need an engine dyno to start then off to the water, the hardest part when starting from scratch is drive ability, docking at low rpm and fuel econ. Making HP is the easiest part of the whole deal.
