    Trim Pump Fluid Advice

I just woke up my 89 Mercury 150 from it's winter sleep yesterday. It was a glorious cloud of Seafoam blue smoke that filled the yard I'll be doing all the usual maintenance for the the season but was wondering if I should try to change the trim pump fluid. Ive had the engine for a few years now and have never had a problem or leak, it's the three ram style. I'm kind of a if it aint broke don't fix it kind of guy. But if I should any tips or techniques would be helpful and also suggestions for type and brand of fluid. The wife and i were taking the Checkmate out this weekend but typical Outerbanks weather, it went from 70* to 50* overnight.

If it is the original fluid from 1989, I would change it. If unsure how old it is, what does it look like? I would probably change it if unknown.

It may be just me, but I change those things every so often, depending on use. For what it costs and the time it takes, I feel better knowing that I am running clean fluids.
