I like the garmin stuff (I have them in every boat). The 742XS (7" display) or the 942XS (9" display) are great units and reasonable in price when comparing to everything else out there. Double Rigged here on the board is a factory authorized distributor and has helped me multiple times.

The Simrad GO 9 worked great on my 300R .Chevy Ford kind of thing Garmins are easier to set up Simrads have more options. A Simrad not mater what size 5 inch to 24 inch will be a vesell view if you buy the Merc VV link. If you dont want the Merc gauge look you can buy the Gateway and use a Simrad or Garmin but you want have the VV screen look. Gateway is cheaper than the link. Here is my dash with VV link on 3 Simrads

What garmin model is that? I like that display layout.
Do they plug into a 93 260. Will smart link work on a 1993 260?

I have owned 5 Garmin GPS Map chartplotters with Sounders [sonar] to give me a depth finder. Due to the extreme beating I give them [I break everything in my boat just about every year] I am replacing it about every 2-3 years. Since I am also a pilot, the Aircraft TSO'D Garmin is good for the price. The Marine stuff has really gone downhill since Garmin was sold to the Chinese. The screens on the Garmins get splotches on them that make them hard to read too.
