My Allison Copy Project almost complete. First run at ramp and some pics.

Bought the boat from my old buddy Helmut. Brett had it with an 80 and blew the motor and dropped a 115 powerhead on it but never took it any further. My goal was to complete it (before paint/cosmetic) for under $4k invested. Looks like I pretty much succeeded (barely). Selling off the 80 parts to bring it back down under budget.

This is when Brett had it. He was running the 80 hp with a 26 Yamaha Drag over 70 mph 6500+

My new wrap and skirt should arrive today. 1979 colors I thought would go nice with the yellow and blue boat. Heres' a photoshop I did to see what it will look like.

It's a 1995 Alpha built by Activator Boats on Long Island.
    I've rigged it with a 1988 115 inline 6 powerhead on a 70s 15" mid with a Bob's LWP lower.

I did some glass work. It never had a bow eye. So I made a support. Thanks to my old friend Todd Lamb for providing the guidance and some really high quality materials complimentary. Todd has become a good friend! Funny how life comes around full circle sometimes. I also added a mount for the battery under the bow, fixed a crack in the dash and fixed damage to the motor well.

My buddy Don donated a brand new dual ride guide steering and lots of mechanical phone support for the inline 6. (this is my first inline). Thanks Don!

Glass work complete. I just primed it all with white primer for now. Focus is on budget running rig for now.

Video of the first run at the ramp. Didn't want to drive it cause I still have to replace shift shaft and prop shaft seals, didn't have a chase boat and don't want to end up in hospital when we really should be staying home.

Just waiting for lower unit seals to arrive and then one of my boys to get their boat ready to fish me out of the drink if it doesn't go as planned LOL.

When you say water psi are you referring to video showing gauge at the ramp or the first start on the hose?

New water pump. Seems ok, telltale is strong when it's in the water (not so much on hose maybe due to dash gauge taking from the telltale). Gauge goes up to almost 10 revving on the ramp. Probably higher when running on plane. My 300x barely made 12-15 psi at speed. Doesn't go over 90 degrees on hose 10 minutes running with IR gun.

Exhaust, it has relief holes. Maybe you tube, sounded fine to me.

Sweet looks like mine without the blue outline. Curious are the older Allisons built with any core and are most of them in need of structural work if not well cared for or did they hold up well over time? Mine is all solid glass just wood in transom and stringers and seems well built. It's pretty light too. I'm guessing 350ish empty. I think it did a best of just about 75 with the 80 hp.

I don't know that answer. I bought this one already redone. I think I read a 14R was around 320ish.

At100plus- those holes look like 1/2 inch and drilled all the way thru, into the exhaust stack??
Largecar- For some reason I thought Grand Lake was only a couple feet deep, mostly a fishing lake???
