This is starting to be the Norm in the Power Toboggan industry for Drag racing.
Very easy to accomplish now days.
Newer stuff for the upcoming season will get close to 2 liters with a CVT on boost
The 1700 on good fuel was tickling 1400hp and one person can carry the long block.
3.43 @ 155mph in 500' in the dirt is what has been clocked.

The 850cc Doo 2 stroke Turbo in the sled is very Impressive, flat out gets after it
    doesn't matter what elevation.

The opportunities for constant regulated cooling in the charge would be Huge in the E tec outboard if boosted over what is in the sled.

Interesting Company to say the least , One might be surprised as to the next investment into the outboard market.

I have seen the stuff from Hypersports and the snow outlaws. Pretty amazing what happened when the four strokes came out with boost. Jim and Brett from onestop in Mi. made a 3.76 pass at 142 over 5 years ago at Haydays. That sled made just North of 700 and now we are seeing lake racers show up with that.

I have been down the "drag sled path" and its an empty hole for $$$ but the new 300 to 400 horsepower trail-able stuff is really fun. The downside to trail riding remains to be alcohol consumption, and with this new power capability "it has to be avoided".

I have three of the Honda F12X turbo PWCs and the turbos on a PWC are much more friendly than the supercharged Brands. A turbo is great except an outboard does not have room under the cowling for the white hot components like the wastegate and turbo housing. My 1200 CC Hondas get close to 200 HP at 13+# of boost and 7 MPG at close to 60 MPH. The biggest minus is that a failed OEM turbo is close to $3K.

Sorry, it's not crazy turbo/procharged anything. Unfortunately it's not high horsepower or anything for us. They are trying to perfect something they tried 30-40 years ago and are expecting a different result. It's called "Ghost Drive" I'm sure some of you have heard about it....

I just googled that and came across this document. Basically a budget minded outboard that is out of sight under the deck.

I think this idea might belong in the "what sank OMC" thread lol. I think they are trying their same old tactics. The same thing they are doing with Manitou, Alumacraft and their other boat lines. Forcing the products to use BRP so that Evinrude gains market share. Only now the entire boat design will be so weird that you can't even bolt another brand of motor on if you want to.

This is destened for failure. These guys are DESPIRATE for market share. And rather than making a product that people (the majority I'm talking) want to buy, they think they can force the population to buy their undesirable products.

New boat construction needs to be specifically designed for these drive systems. Hence the acquisitions......On the other hand, nobody will be re-powering as these drives will most likely not be compatible with your current boat configuration.

2019 was a great year financially for DOO. With the recent market turn, shares can be bought around $20 from a 52 week high of $75 per share just over a month ago. If the stock returns to 60% of its 52 week high you make 100% on your money. Seems like a buy to me.....

BRP has a massive share in the side X side market as well. I just don't see anyone successfully go after Mercury for the small slice of outboard performance.

True. Evinrude is a small slice of BRPs pie. I agree about Mercs lack of competition in the HiPo outboards. Let's just be grateful Mercury Racing is doing what they are doing.

By the way, DOO is up 10% today. :-)

I think we all know that when I said to sell stocks I was referencing the fact that their "Ghost" idea is destined to fail. I wasn't relating their stock price to the current world events.

There was this brief flicker of hope about the Wankel engine.

Then I scrolled down and saw the investor presentation about what they are actually doing.
