SLICK tool for removing/installing snap ring on steering yokes

I was installing solid mounts on my 2.4 this weekend and had my mess torn down to the bare bones. Had never removed the lower snap ring before but had read many comments on removing and installing them and what a PITA they could be. When I got to that point (to check lower yoke to spline relationship and condition), I remembered I had a pair of pliers that I had ended up with in a bulk purchase of tools some years ago. Never knew what they were for...until now. These things are MAGIC for installing and removing that ring. Just wanted to pass along.

Here is a pic of mine that are 40 year old Snap-On. Still have teeth. Good tip, never tried to get that ring off but those are a must have tool for VW crankshaft and transmission snap rings.

Very cool! I'm gonna clean mine up and see if there are any markings on them. Now you got me curious. Takes off that snap ring like "butta"

Post like these tend to reveal out ages. HaHa. I have the exact pair that I inherited from my dad who passed away in 1974 when I was 17.
