best boat wrap , for a old faded gelcoat boat

I have a 1994 Mirage that has been exposed to the sun several years , i have had it wet sanded and buffed several times .The previous owners were using tirer dressing and baby oil on a orbital and it looks like a rainbow on the ground when the polish guys try and work there magic .i just want the boat to shine and look great without all the greasy mess and figure a wrap would do the trick , i would clear it ,but everyone is afraid of the tire dressing and baby oil that has been on the boat ...any advice would be great

I would think you would have to get the oil out for a wrap, too?

I have been doing vinyl graphics and wraps since 1995. I WOULD BE AFRAID TO PUT ANYTHING ON YOUR BOAT. LOL! If you are going to go through the trouble of clearing your boat , why not just go ahead and paint it while you are at it?

I bought an STV out of TX. where the guy had done the same thing. I drove from Michigan to get it, get out of the truck and the guy says sorry for the oil all over-I do that to protect it from salt air. After paying him, one of my first stops was a car wash and the red turned to chalky pink.

I took it to my friends body shop and he gave it a bath with simple green "twice a day for a week" before it stopped coming to surface. After that, he wet sanded it with multiple stages, gave it a final buff and the boat remained looking good. Simple green is one of the best wax removers that they have come up with and he has a major body shop operation that deals with it everyday.
