90's Looper Compression when new?
What was the compression when new on the 3.0L V6's?
Can this be found in the manual? if so, where, as I didn't see it?
I've read these are low compression motors from factory (like 100-105lb psi).
Is there a technical buletin or something "official" out there? I need to settle a bet with a friend.
Thanks in advance

What year? Yes they are low comp motors.
(until you do something to them..)
86-87 - 115#
88-92- 90-95# should be 90 but have seen 95 on stock too
93+ 110#
Yes it's in the manual too

Thanks guys.
The specimen in question is a 96, 225. I've got the manual but didn't see a "new" reading. The only thing I saw was under comp checcking they should be within 20% of each other. Any hints on where to find it in the manual?

I don't remember where in the manual I'll look tomorrow
But was pretty sure it was in there.
The factory manual..
but I have a seloc with a bunch of notes I lend out.
And don't think it was in notes in the manual .. meaning I didn't write it so when someone borrowed it was in there..
If that makes sense..

Factory manual does not list actual numbers that I remember. First you need to understand cranking speed will change compression numbers and gauges dont all read the same. I can tell you on my snap on gauge with and engine turning between 250 and 275 rpm on starter at sea level (air density) a 96 should be between 105 and 115 on a very rare one I have seen a bit over 115.
