    Thank you sir.

    That is much appreciated.

[Instigator, I like your can-do/buck the norm attitude, as well as the projects you’ve done and shared. You’re one of the people that drove me to refurbish my Daytona after reading your build threads over the years. Thanks for sharing your journey.

Good luck getting your 25 Checkmate finished and I truly hope you get to follow through with this as well.[/QUOTE]

There is always the naysayers in the crowd, Gary. Not knocking them, their thoughts, past achievements, or their choices. I've known you a long time, have seen your accomplishments, and know your skill level. We all learn, build again, try something different, learn and try again.
With that said, the feeling that you get when you have succeeded in attaining your goals, cannot be diminished by the opinions of the naysayers. Because in the end, it's fun watching them float away, scratching their heads, wondering....

Back to the original question - my votes:

    1) 22 Velocity - great all-around performing hull, seem to be fairly easy to find at good prices, but balsa core could be a project.

    2) 22 Stoker SST tunnel. Harder to find from what I can tell. Really well built, many were rigged with V8s originally as I understand it.

FOUND IT!!!! Towed my wee whaler to Ponce inlet for some clean water and great sand bar relaxation. Found this at the marina/ramp. Had to tow north of New Smyrna to find a ramp that wasn’t closed because of Virus.... Saw this and thought it was perfect. May need more than one V8 though...

Checkmate 24' Enforcer, same hull as the latest 2400 Pulsare. Has a cuddy and came in outboard. Hard to find but inexpensive, good hull, good size. Just a thought. Your Convincor is pretty sweet, it'll be hard to beat that.

yup that was a long time ago.

I would vote for a 22 velocity v8, I have been in one a long time ago, pretty cool package. rough water, fast, cabin. No downside.

Well one thing is just buy the powerhead you've got plenty of room in that shop and look for donor motors and parts that way when ready you have every thing or hopefully will for motor..or can even start probably finish till a boat shows up other than mid size.
Your really looking for something you can take out pretty much whenever you want right since not looking at anything small like streams etc..
I think what you need/has already been mentioned...other than something I cant remember the name of..

I've been going back and forth about a few motors up north price is definitely right just that they are 25" but...if it wasn't for this lock down would just get them. Not missing this time!
I waited last time and really pissed I didn't.

I would definitely go with something older and different except most likely have to do resto work and do you want to do that again? Or get lucky and minimum work but that's so unlikely

How bout a nice Stoker of some sort, always have liked those, and a OMC would be right at home on the back of one.
