Went to get some blood work done today and the Lab had the inside shut down. We had to line up in our cars, near the entrance, like at a drive through and they came to us wearing mask and latex gloves taking blood with you in your vehicle.
I wish I would have thought to ask them what they were doing for urine samples.

I guess I have a different idea about stocking up on essentials. I got a case of ribs, some big steaks, shrimp, fish and lots of taters, grits, onions and beans. Stuff to bake bread, pancakes, etc. My fall back, if i'm starving will be black beans and rice. Or pasta. Oh, and a well stocked bar with plenty of mixers.

Oh theres 200lbs of beef in my deep freeze, too. I buy it straight from the butcher and just picked up a 1/4 in January. MRE's are a last ditch resort.

Gonna be heading to the grocery store for the first time since getting home from Houston. Gonna hit it when the doors open and see what it's like now.

Just got back from the grocery store. I didn't make it at store opening. I overslept but in my defense I didn't fall asleep until almost 4AM.
No TP and almost no paper towls, biscuits were almost all gone. Plenty of bottled water, guess people finally figured out their faucets at home still have water. Everything else was OK for the most part. Low on some items and not many people shopping. They would only let one person at a time approach the checkout counter. Guess they didn't want peoples groceries contaminating each others, smart thinking.

Yea my wife is a store manager for CVS
Company at first didn't want them wearing masks and gloves...I told her wear them let them bitch or try and fire you. They finally realized the stupidity ordered the $20 masks etc for all employees and told them to install plastic curtains at registers.. and some people are idiots walking right up to them that they have to put their hand up and back away or some were pulling the plastic curtain aside at the register and when asked what they were doing just got a dumbfounded look in their face like whats wrong..

This is a "black swan " event, it changes things forever. The only good that could come from this is that people might gain a little insight as to how we are really dependant on one another whether we like it or not. In this case globally....

A black swan is an unpredictable event that is beyond what is normally expected of a situation and has potentially severe consequences. Black swan events are characterized by their extreme rarity, their severe impact, and the widespread insistence they were obvious in hindsight.

I have have canned beans, dried beans, rice, then there is the freezer, steaks, rack of ribs, pot pies, etc.

I think I am going to go ahead and make an order one line. I haven't been to the local store, but they say it is F'ed up. If I go there they open at 7 and I'll be there before they open the doors to avoid the idiots.

I've run out of Doritos and now must face the TRUE TERROR of this disease.

My wife claims that vegetables can be consumed by humans but I have no personal experience to support such an idea.
