People should ask themselves whether this coronavirus “pandemic” could be a big hoax, with the actual danger of the disease massively exaggerated by those who seek to profit – financially or politically – from the ensuing panic.

That is not to say the disease is harmless. Without question people will die from coronavirus. Those in vulnerable categories should take precautions to limit their risk of exposure. But we have seen this movie before. Government over-hypes a threat as an excuse to grab more of our freedoms. When the “threat” is over, however, they never give us our freedoms back.

It will be interesting/frightening to see what the cost to society ends up being for all these "lockdowns"... how many lives are ruined by the governments' knee-jerk reactions to this outbreak.

You have a million registered (and likely millions of unregistered) sex offenders (rapists, child molesters) that are not going to their regular jobs and 74 million school-age children not going to school during the day.

How many additional overdoses and wife- beatings will there be? Drunk driving will probably go way down but there's hardly anyone out on the road to get hit by one. Pregnancy and unemployment are probably increasing at record levels.

    Interesting times.

Our kids are home with us while not in school, so no demo child molesters will get to them. No drugs here and I won't drink more than 1 beer and drive anywhere. My wife and I can't have anymore kids, so we are safe there. Hopefully this will be over in a decent amount of time, no way to know though. Just hoping and praying for the best.

They’re already reporting an increase in domestic abuse calls.

I do the math every morning from the #s I get from our local paper.
    Countries, states etc.

Mortality rate Vs confirmed cases continues to be similar to flue.
1.4% based on this mornings paper.

We now have TTTTTTTWWWWWWOOOOO deaths in the state of Ohio.
An 85 yr old and a 93 yr old.
Besides their age, both had preexisting conditions.
Still sucks and I hate that for their family.

But should I still be hiding under the table?

Funny too, was B’ing about it w/a friend about my neighbors having rebel flags in front of their houses and that I felt safe in case the natives decided to pillage in a couple weeks.
He said those flags are better than an a ADT security sign in your yard
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.

I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.

Some new report (Fox News) apparently says we all SHOULD have been wearing the masks they said don't work, if we wanted to "flatten the curve" without locking everyone down.

The way it's going, in 30 days there should be 30 million infections in the US and 30,000 deaths... which is how many will die from the flu this season. The question, I guess is whether it fizzles out then or a week later?

It's no joke but it STILL doesn't appear to be any worse than the flu in spite of the 24/7 panic on TV. The real hospitalization rate seems to be a few percent of the total (not 15% to 20%).and the real mortality rate looks like 0.12% (not 5%).

$6 trillion... 1/3 of our GDP... and they're talking about 8 more weeks of lockdowns.

If you're a travel agent and leave your house you're chastised as a mass murderer. If you work at the grocery store....Oh well, I guess it's just too bad for you.

Police, Fire, and Health care worker signed up for a higher risk profession. The Home Depot worker, gas station attendant and auto mechanic did not.

It's become so blatantly obvious in a VERY short time what groups in our population need aggresive protection.

If you're not elderly, reasonably fit and in good health Mommy government is going to have to allow you to get sick. Gee, you won't even need a vaccine then that wrecks your liver and gives you two headed offspring.

Well you probably don't get this enough, but THANK YOU. It's times like this where our medical, police, fire etc will be held up high as heros. I feel in the last number of years that has been forgotten.

"Serious/critical" at 2.5% and falling means all the projections of it "overwhelming" our medial facilities are wrong (if these numbers are right). The projection posted on the other thread used 15% hospitalization rate and then we run out of beds.
