Miss Geico back in 2017 sustained a crash
in the video...
* mold is pulled off another similar race boat for the damaged part
* resin infuse carbon part
* glass the new part onto the damaged boat

That carbon structure in post 3 shows how much detail goes into these ultimate cats. Just the molding for the molds to build the parts is nuts!

I noticed something weird in post #3, but then I realized that it's not weird but advanced. they're proly using advanced adhesives
look at the carbon supports (the man's blue foot), they're not glassed into place

been using methacrylate adhesives since the 80's. most commonly used to bond hulls to decks in production performance boat building for a long time now. much higher shear strength than mechanical bonding, such as fiberglassing and/or bolting/screwing. there's a couple different brands of methacrylate in caulking form out there, but the biggest & most commonly used is named Plexus. www.ITWPlexas.com

Thanks, good to know
When I was at DW, they too use these advanced adhesives in their 36 and 42 performance outboard cats

here's an example of excess overuse of plexus on a "production" factory boat build, as they are relying on it to also fill the space between a deck & a hull, as well as bond the two. this is a new large robalo center console. poor tooling design spacing involving the mating of these two parts. but these two pieces will never come apart without being destroyed. chances are, the liner will stress crack everywhere there is not plexas contact.
