    2.5 powered to 2.4 adaptor

ID:	460439Read a bunch of posts, still can find a clear answer. I have a 1994 carbed 2.5 200 fishing engine , can I use this 1 piece adaptor (I believe it’s from a 2.4) I’m willing to add diverters in block and washers in thermostat housing..

    Best to run the stock 2 piece plate with stats and poppet, as you stated its a fishing motor it was built to run the stock cooling system.

    It can be done but with modifications, 1 piece plate meant to b run wot all the time , so cooling mite not do good if u wanna cruise etc , I'd stick with 2 piece as dave said

    What you have there will work but what Dave stated is correct. If its a fishing motor stick to the stock 2pc plate and cooling setup.
    If you decide to go with that plate you will need to do some cooling mods/changes and it will probably take a little tweaking to get temp correctly.
    Actually the 2.4 plate works well for the swap because of the 4 small water dump holes....just be sure you are ready to work on getting cooling correctly!
    BTW, looks like that plate has had some mods already like the allen plug on the side and wings tabs in front for either steering or attach to can welded in the front. Also do not try to remove those little humps in the corner of the exhaust ports.
