Just received two PM's from him saying he has a friend that has two different props that I have inquired about. JeansOsn.....Anyone know him???? He has zero post and no history.

Ask him for his contact info - at minamum speak to him and if moving forward protect your payment with the individual as usual . There seems to be a rash of this just recently . I had Karius Nefarious contact me in PM . HE/They seem to be around lately - doubt it' going to stop

This seems to be a common SCAM going on over on the Face book High performance boating Forums. Some one out of no where contact a Want To Buy post and says either they or a friend has item. Thay pay and never receive item.

I got a private message from him a few days ago also about a pair of Optic's.
rcwhiteffy@gmail.com was the person allegedly selling them.
Came close to sending them over $7k last night!
Started getting suspicious, and ended up trying to call them this morning. Number reached a talk-to-text service where I left a message asking to be called back.
When they finally got through (2 attempts, took 5seconds to hear their voice, it was an African accent). Definitely wasn't the retired Navy Captain I was expecting from Washington state, now living in Miami!! They even sent me a Navy Vet ID to match the name.

Think another scammer PM'd me tonight about some E-Tec pans im looking for. His username is Shawnm809, shows he joined a couple days ago, zero posts or anything. Said to email his friend "Timothy" at "timbrownma@gmail.com" because he is selling what im looking for....

My rule of thumb on any board I frequent and think of doing business with a user is if I cannot look up their profile and see see they have been on for a while and have quite a few post to look at and see some content is I just pass on em.....not worth the risk.

These guys are amateur's. The good ones will B.S. you, take your funds then hack Amazon or Ebay(done all the time) and give you a tracking number of a package heading to your town that some else has ordered from the vendor. The tracking number has no detail meaning it only shows movement not who it came from or who its going to. So the tracking number you are given is for somebody else's package that they ordered from like Amazon and it get's delivered to there house. So you track what you think is your package and it says "left at front door", but its not there. So you go to UPS to bitch that you cant find your package and hand them the tracking numbers and they use the internal tracking that can pull up the orginal manifest and it show's the tracking number you were given wasn't your motor parts coming from the scammer it was really a amazon tracking number from a third party amazon seller being shipped to Amber Lynn(haha) on the other side of the town you live in... So now better than a week has gone by the scammers moved on.. Follow me?.

If your not sure on a sale, tell the seller you will Paypal him when he texts you a pic of the package with the shipping label already on it. A clear pic showing tracking number and your address.

Apparently MR. 809 also has a friend "jimmy". Wish I knew a way to screw with him.

This might be something Greg will need to implement, but on some other forums you can't send PMs, or reply to threads in the for sale unless you have 30 or so posts. I don't mind, keeps people engaged on the forums and weeds out the scammers.
