Do some research on nose cones before you commit. They are great for shallow running but are designed to really shine when surfacing the prop. They ad length to the gearcase and unless you have enough power to carry the boat it will actually slow you down due to the extra drag.

Yes Rocks right
But it's not a huge amount..and all depends on how your setting boat up and going to use it too
(trade-off for not hitting in shallow water)unless your counting every mph too.. I was wondering for the shallow water running not speed and surfacing....BUT there are other setups for low water pickup too That don't use the nose cone..and are faster ..transom mounted
Not a step by step just rough idea ..Easy as getting a
one-way brass fitting(has to be one way or water pump will just pump out alot out that fitting not getting to motor) and beveling the end 10degrees or so (to catch water doesn't take much)mounting it to lowest point on transom plumb a hose to adapter plate, tap fitting(to water jacket)or to side of lower unit..filling top holes of lower unit water pickup..you have to tap in the right spot because you need the water to flow to keep water pump from melting.... that's how I had it setup on my 380 Lazer was 7-8 mph faster..that setup actually didn't even cost anything had the one way valve, hide and fittings...but would be like $25
don't know if your looking to run/setup the boat surfacing the prop.
Speed from Raising the motor was referring to it being 25" buried so far in the water

And speed really isn’t that much of a concern as much as shallow water is.. as it is now my cruising speed is 48-50ish.. well right now it’s as fast as the trolling motor will do,, but when the motor was running it was 50ish. Don’t really do big tournaments with mine, buddy has a 2016 ranger Comanche with a 250vmax that we use.. his cruising speed is 72 and that’s just out there fishing for fun and not in tournaments. So I get all the speed adrenaline I need when I go with him lol. But I feel sure if I get a 225 my cruising speed will probable go up lol

Just to give you guys an update.. I took your advice and waited around (not so very patiently) found a good deal I believe. I bought a 2005 225 optimax with 440 original hrs compression is all 115.. $3500. It’s a 25” shaft. I remeasured my transom again it’s 25.5”. (Typo last time. I said 28 meant 25). Including a pic to make sure I’m measuring right....
