HydroStream "Mega-Gallery" Coming Soon!
The recent passing of HydroStream creator Howard Pipkorn represented a tremendous loss of not only a man that defined an entire culture of performance boat enthusiasts, but a person that cared a great deal for the people that remain loyal to HydroStream boats decades after the company shut its doors.
The HydroStream Power Tour really illustrated just how active and passionate HydroStream owners still are today, with Pipkorn himself attending with his Virage!
Matt Wolf making a pass in his HydroStream Voyager at the Power TourOver the many years that I have been photographing events, I felt that it would be appropriate to collate the photos of HydroStreams that I've amassed over these years, and to present them in one huge gallery for everybody to see. It is a lot of work to comb through nearly 20 years of event coverage and many tens of thousands of photos, but I feel that it is worth it, not only as a tribute to Howard Pipkorn, but for everybody here on Scream And Fly that has been a part of a passion for these boats that will live on forever.
Voyager twins Chad Schram and Matt Wolf!
And so, I am in the process of gathering these photos from my backups, with many of them having never been published or posted before. I am not sure just how many photos will be in the HydroStream gallery yet, but it will likely be more than 200. I expect this to be ready this month, and the photos will be posted here on the site for anybody to view and download.
Thank you for all the years of priceless memories everybody, and being a part of the greatest group of boaters that exists!

Just a thought.... When I was a kid one of my favourite wall posters was every model year Corvette with specs printed underneath. I know that would be pretty busy with all the different models Hydrostream put out, but if you were to put together a poster with pictures from the first model to the last model, (possibly member's own boats) with updates and innovations along the way, I'm sure there would be some interest

That whole deck is designed around that windshield.
Or vice versa.
IMO it totally ruins the gorgeous lines of the deck and boat, w/o one.
When I did my Vector project I moved hell and high water to come up with one w/an intact windshield.
Cool picture BTW.
Reminds me of one of the video tapes lost in a move that is sorely missed.
When I was knee deep in my Vector project and debating the option of burning it instead of finishing it......, a fan in southern Ohio, on the river, sent me a video of his making a pass on the river. It was epic.
As I recall......, a 175 2.4 Merc that he had leaned on, on a V-King.
Never forget the video though, 20+ yrs later..........
At dawn on the river, w/a haze still burning off.
It had open exhaust and when he fired it off it shot flames out the snout! Killer!
The sound was orgasmic. Even at idle it sounded like a AA fueler echoing off the trees.
It ran 78. I think.
Had several passes thatstarted w/hearing him before you could see him.
Bet I watched that tape a thousand times.
I told him many times how much that tape meant to me.
I'd rather be competitive w/junk I built in my garage than win w/stuff I bought.
I refuse to allow common sense to interfere w/my boat buying decisions.
