To those of you lucky enough to have purchased one of these, you better hold on to it because there will be no more made. I saw parts of these as Joe and Marty were developing it and I knew it would be an incredible piece, and of course it is. I think maybe about 20 of them have been made, and they're just beautiful. I took a ride to Diamond last weekend and thought you all might like some closeup photos of it.

I think I got the first one that they made. It’s even prettier in real life. Mine has the smaller custom bracket for the Brucato ACU. I waited for over a year to get it and Marty kept saying, “Hey, I’m tellin ya, you’re not gonna be fukin disappointed, okay?!” And he was right. Mine has some trick reed cages too.
For those of you who like to save every little pound on your race boat, get this: it weighs 4 pounds less than the Merc factory Brucato slider. How’s that possible? If you look at it closely, you can see how they sculpted it and removed every little unnecessary bit of aluminum they could, and used Delrin for the inlet snouts. It’s truly a work of art, and is, along with everything else that they’ve created over the years, a shining example of their mastery at making the best factory outboard motor ever, even better.
Its truly sad to see them close down, feels like an era has come to an end, although if anyone’s earned a good retirement, the two of them certainly have, and this jewel is certainly worthy of being their final masterpiece.
