1979 Donzi 21 Hornet II Project Hull & Trailer $3000 or BO
Sold.....1979 Donzi 21 Hornet II hull for sale. Rare model…only 71 Hornet II’s built…this is #43. Have title and paperwork for hull & trailer. Every Donzi person says they want a 22 Classic...be different (and stay drier) with this 21 Hornet II.
Sold$3000 or Best Offer (incls hull&trailer)!!
(Boat located in Stuart, Florida)
Boat comes with the Magic-Tilt Galvanized Trailer. Trailer has new tires/bearings/wiring/lights.
No hull cracks and overall structure is good. This is the perfect project if you have some bodyshop skill and a motor-pkg searching for a boat. Make this YOUR Resto-Mod (it would even be a good candidate for an outboard-motorwell conversion….see how the Donzi 16/18 Outboard models were made with motorwell and make yourself the only Outboard Hornet II in existence.
Fuel tanks are intact (no leaks) and has the factory optioned 2nd fuel tank (bringing fuel capacity to 60 gals). Windshield was replaced with a sportier looking Taylor-Made unit.
**Boat does need glass work in the engine compartment (stringers&transom) and cockpit (dash holes&typical Floor Work). Due to Florida sun, it needs paint work on deck as boat was previously repainted prior to me.)**Last edited by JBmarine; 05-09-2021 at 10:59 AM. Reason: Sold

Price Update
Price has been lowered to $3200 or Best Offer!?!
This is an extra project Donzi Hornet II for me. Boat has been listed in Florida Craigslist and Facebook Marketplace...had a number of tire kickers but not many serious as more South Floridian's desire center consoles.

Interesting... cut a deep comfy br in it, rear power sundeck , wrap around bench full interior, 300G2 on a swim step setback, take it back down to glass and gel it if possible.

I might be biased, but this is a good Resto-mod candidate. A couple of people talked about interest in buying the hull to do an OB Conversion. One talked of turning the engine compartment into an OB Splashwell (like the Donzi C16&C18 OB Models were). Another person had a 300-Suzuki and talked of a bracketed setup...which is not totally
new for Donzi as they once did a C22 (bracketed) Outboard from the factory...

Listing updated to reflect new price...2 people who made "remote" offers and suppose to come look at hull/trailer this past weekend were no-shows. Price again lowered.
Now asking $3000(Cash)!?!

I too love the Hornets...I picked up this project '79 (except for a lot of cleaning..as pictured) with every intention of resto-mod'ng it. I then found and bought a project '78 model that was a little more fitting to the final outcome I plan on. Overall this '79 hull is a solid boat and would be a great project for someone, I just don't want (2) project Hornet II's (even with taking a now 800 dollar loss in the sale).

Hornet/Trailer=Sold
I appreciate all who have replied. This Hornet sold back in November (2020) to a husband/wife from the Middle-Keys here in Florida. Due to my circumstances (and impending lack of space)...I took a notable loss on this boat with the buyers getting a really good deal for a Donzi +20ft hull. When the buyers picked up the boat they talked of installing a bracket and outboard for power.
I still have a untouched-project 1978 Hornet II w/MerCruiser Performance 370 MCII-TRS (all original), sitting on a EZ Loader Alum Tandem Trailer. The plan is to (possibly!?!) restore sometime in the future.
Thanks to all...Jason
