1996 Johnson 225 venom Mechanic/shop rebuild needed Houston tx...sugestions please.

Lost the number 2 pin last weekend and I want to do a total rebuild now. I am looking for recommendations on a shop to send it out to (as my wife is getting mad at me spending all my time on my boat). I would like to do some upgrades to get the most out of this motor but still keep it reliable, so I need suggestion there. I live in the Houston area but I am willing to ship the motor... I just want it done right.

I don't know how many Johnrudes he works on but I'm sure he could make about anything better than it was before, Jay Smith is down that way somewhere.

Merc 2.5 do you have a contact number or website, when i google it i get a shop in VA, and that is a little too far.

I called them the other day but the guy on the other end said they don't work on anything that old, but I am going to give them another call...Who should I ask for? Also I am assuming they will be able to do water modification to help cool number 2? and any other suggestion you guys may have. I here you are one of the experts on these things, so I am open to any suggestion for best upgrades? since i am going to get it done.
