Big job. The old Allisons were never really built to be taken back apart. The hull can be gutted without decapping it. You might want to repost this question in the Fiberglass discussion section on here. you will get plenty of suggestions.

Would love to see some photos of it. There are many people here that have experience that can guide you, and we're all happy to help. Like Mark Poole said, it's a big job but taking it down to small steps will make it manageable and probably not very expensive at all.

I had Jack Barsh do a complete restoration on my 1979 Allison GT-20...I told him I wanted it to look exactly like it did when came out of the factory in 1979...he did just that! It looks perfect! Highest endorsements to Jack!!!

Jack has just restored a beautiful Allison Craft that was sitting there when I just pcked up my boat. The only problem might be is that Jack has orders for 8 new boats to build.

I also have a 67 model. A 16 with a 1100ss. Love to see pictures of it . And the 57 model. That would be a wood boat.

Thanks, I tear it up with hundreds of hours every Spring/Summer/Fall and Jack restores it [8 + times] every Winter. I just replaced the 4th Garmin in it due to the beating it gets along with a half dozen Stereos/speakers.
I have even had to replace a half dozen sets of trailer tires too.
I am still waiting on Darius to finish the 24 Grandsport.
You need to come to some of the Suwannee River runs or to Silver Glenn Springs this Spring/Summer.
