[QUOTE=Scottshillboater;3188854]1999 Lightning 21 CC with 2006 Optimax 225XS. Hull/interior was completely redone in 2008. Trailer is a 2014 Real-X tandem axle trailer, that I purchased brand new at South seas rigging in Marathon, FL. Tires, bearings and lights are in good working order. Best top speed was 59 MPH, might be more in it with some prop work. Cruises very nicely between 30 mph and 40, averages 4.25 mpg and has great range with the 75 gallon tank. Lots of great parts on this boat.

looks like great deal...great seller...........................
Well sometimes I wonder why I get myself into this stuff. I think this time it was to save my buddy Frank Mole' from the horror show.... 40 miles into the trip, yes 40, I look in the mirror and see the left rear wheel being held in by the fender. Before I can get it stopped, bam!, Wheel veers left, jumps the cable in the median missed oncoming traffic and lands in the woods. Limped it home 100 miles like a 3 legged dog and when I got here I checked the other bearings...Wow, good thing I was going slow and not too far. Sounded like rocks in the hubs. Found out the reason the wheel came off is it had about 30% of the threads remaining and the cotter key held it as long as it could. Soooo sand blast all the hubs, all new hearings, new torsion shaft, 1 hub,new tire, fix fender and a week later I am about ready to put it in the water to see what other excitement is waiting for me, well after I finish draining the black oil out of the lower (thought it was blue or gold :0, but at least no water !) and change the water pump that who knows how long its been in there. Of course you know now I am thinking I should have done a compression check and fired it up on the hose..Oh and brought a floor jack to check those freshly lubricated bearings. I know better. But in the end at least none of my fellow scream & flyers from out of state had to deal with this on the road...and when I put it up for sale it will be much better and advertised with current pictures of actual condition.

Yea that is why I bought it. Randy did the 25 Hustler we owned so we knew it was done right when he rigged it in 2008. I knew when i saw it I liked the look and set up without knowing he had rigged it.
