Yeah, there was a 10gal tank added in front of the foot well to add extra weight to the bow. It would really help keep the nose down when pulling a Solemn skier. They still had 2-6gal portable tanks in the rear. The bow tank was mostly kept full just for weight.

Thats how I want mine to float. The way it is now I couldnt dock it and leave it or it would get swamped! The wing tips dangle right at the water line. My Valero on the other hand floated at least 3" of wing above water line and I though that was too low LOL. Mind you, everything is stuff in the back of mine tbere is nothing in front of the rear seat except the front seats and the steering wheel. Big tank on mine too. Anyways planning on reorganizing some weight but it sure does handle well at speed like this so ???

The way this was set up at the time it never had more than a 19p prop on it. Motor bolted to the transom and prop was buried. It was pretty much a dedicated ski boat. It would run 50-55 but handled great at those speeds. My plan in to put some sand bags up front if needed for skiing. Then I can pull them for running faster.
