    High speed blow out

Can’t find what I’m looking for so here goes. I have seen what can happen to a mono pad hull when the prop blows out at 80+mph but what about a cat hull if it happens? Single engine fairly light flats boat. Would it track straight most likely? Also, if it does what is procedure? Immediate trim/jack down? Thanks!

I've seen STV's hook on blow out just like Allison's. All I have done is turn the wheel against the hook and hold on. Not much time for a anything else.

I am by no means an expert in this field but I am pretty certain that any boat (hull design) that has the potential to have a substantial portion of its hull suddenly interact with the water upon loss of prop bite at high speed will hook. Evidently some more violently than others. RR

From my experience 21 skater and 20 flats boat both true cats as long as you don’t chop the throttle and are not turning you can just hold the jack plate down nothing crazy happens. In a turn I wouldn’t push it to much if the bow drops it will hook I always run less jack into turns. Anyway be safe out there and where a jacket.

I don't know anything about the hull but.
Blowout means the forward push of the boat has given up and you have no control.
    No control means just that.
It might sit down it might turn right.
    What to do? Hold on
What not to do is have anybody else in the boat while you are figuring this out.

Hydrostreams used to blow out a lot but it was cuz I was usually pushing too hard trying to get more than it had. Never a bad landing. STV blow out was totally different. Complete loss of control but boat went straight as a string. Unfortunately directly at a buoy in this instance finally regaining control 50' short of disaster. Never had it happen in any of the Allisons. Bottom line is posted above. Don't push it with passengers.

Had my XR2001 blow out twice on me at 112 and 110. Both times it just laid down. The 112 blowout is on video. Blew out my 1/4 Master multiple times, it just laid down until the last one when it pulled a steering cable loose

Oh come on you can't mention a good video especially a crazy one that ended well or at least wasn't an accident
    And not post it.

My pass starts about 1:40 or so. I’m in the white Allison. At about 1100 ft into the run you see the left side of the boat fall and that’s about it. Pretty uneventful unless you’re driving, definitely gets your attention

    Thanks..it's a good video
Yea anyone who's experienced it can feel/see it in the video and heart best goes up a bit..I won't forget the first time I had it happen..380 Lazer w 2.4 Bridgeport w a little work... it was a very long time ago and remember it like yesterday.. except mine was a bit more violent. luckily other than having to wait for the motor/fuel pump...
shook up so bad had air bubbles? so fuel pump won't prime right away not really sure what it was, was just looking around making sure boat was ok...
Just out of would like to say instinct but..just happened to hit the gas when it was heading straight again and it kept it from getting worse..and stopped.
