HydraStepp Skiff (Steve Stepp of Velocity)
I had the pleasure of meeting Steve at the Daytona Boat show a few weeks back. After speaking with him for too long there; he invited me to his shop (house) to see his other builds. Living only a few minutes from him I decided yesterday was the day. Steve is such a nice guy with incredible knowledge. This skiff is so impressive with what it does with a 115 hp. Beautiful build quality that you often don't see in $50k boats. We talked about his future plans and he has some big plans of expanding the line as well as getting back into the sport boat business with this platform built on what he has learned over the years. If I was a fisherman looking for a flats boat, I'd buy this in a NY minute!

Once you start building and designing boats, it is hard to quit. I know this just from building RC boats. I used to work for him in the 90's. Very motivated person. I think he got tired of playing golf.

Steve sounds like a great guy and his credentials speak for themselves. The specs are impressive on his skiff (10 NMPG @ 30 MPH. That is until you are trying to sneak up on that school of spooky Redfish in a 4 inch chop and that hull is slapping the water like a grandmother from the old country slapping a recalcitrant toddler. That's why most of us on this forum have 3, 4, 5, 10 boats. (Randy) No one boat can do it all.

Shallow vee that transitions to flat at the back. Negative chines. I am sure it has a pad. He would not build a boat without one.
