    It shows 2 screws hold that $380.00 valve in haha. Only the older ones have it mine is a 1998 and it does not have that? Ill try to look it up in the book?

    Its a fuel check valve,as in the dia from the valve hose to the pump there is a filter in the hose to the pump.I would assume the valve is not to let fuel back flow and suck in air.What the chunk of crap you found in the valve is ? but that can plug the fuel to the pump or restrict fuel and run lean then you know what happens next.Clean it all out and go for a test run.

    Didn't know he had the early external pump vst, must be to keep the hose full of fuel and no air. The early 90's 200 vst just had a hose with no valve. Like you said get rid of all the valve pieces and run it.

    Letter R... I'm guessing the red rubber is the actual check valve sealer itself. There is no screen inside of this brass part at all.

    Possibly correct im not sure if its a ckeck ball of rubber flapper valve? No screen u is the filter.
