Those look to be the stock 2 stage Boysen reeds that came with the PM from Mercury. They are good if new or close to it. They look pretty clean, so maybe they are new so I would leave them alone.
That ECU is an A6, its one of the first box and since you say its a 95 which is the first year for the PM it is the correct box that came with that motor.
Do not worry about that 2.4 EFI faded labeling it's also what Mercury sent out to clean up some of their left over 2.4 parts.
Also those A6 are good ECU/box if it is working properly on all parameters.

That pic of some numbers look to be from a Chopper prop.

Maybe someone did something to it, 6700 would be the correct rpm. If you just bought the motor I would get the box checked out.

    Tommy the link not worky...

agree.. back in tha day when tha efi was makin' its debut I had ecu's with all kinda marker and pencil scribed numbers on 'em.. had a few folks say they could identify 'em but was BS back then.. had ta run 'em (dual pyro motors at tha time) ta try an figure it out.. even had a BP with a laser injection that had "0" markin's but a pot on tha back.. it was fun cause no one, (even most merc hi perf guys), even knew tha motor existed……...

What makes 6 ecu diffrent than others?

Meaning... what are the characters of a17 vs 27 vs others? What ecu fits a particular need?

Yes, those are the same ones.

Roadkill, if you decide or need to change them I usually run the CCM single stage and they do well.

Here is a good website with lots of answers to your questions. Somewhere on the page is lists every ECU number and what limiter/what it came on.

Dave, at first I also thought exactly the same. But after looking it over closely and checking the ones I have here it looks to be stock.
The way I was able to confirm was the spacing with a loaded set of reeds
It is hard to tell from his bottom picture angle but the machine work is identical to a stock cut.....I could be wrong.

Roadkill, 824003 ECU's (Lazer injection) is what the PM's run. Good link that was posted.
Let me add that an A17 is also a good box. Some do not agree but I can tell you from personal experience they work well when they are good.

Are stock PM pistons cast or forged?
    Big rods or small?
