WTB: Mercury 150 Promax or Mariner 150 supermag
I recently purchased a 1977 Glastec tunnel It had a 1500 tower of power with a 15"mid. I owned one of these in 1980 and jumped at the
chance to recreate my younger years. Unfortunately, I'm not going with the engine I purchased with it. So after reading how rare 15" mid
are to find I may be waiting a long period of time! I have to start somewhere. This is the first time writing on the forum but I have been viewing
for some time, hence the name "Speedlurker". Below is the boat I had that I'm recreating. I still have a load of work to do but need to start
looking for the power. I am open to buying a 1550xs or 1500 but it would need to be in excellent condition. Let me know what you have, I will
be viewing the forums looking a motor but will be busy restoring. Hoping to get the boat wet by mid summer.

If it is the same one I saw 200 promax with the same bass boat pic. that is hardly turn key, no lower unit and also 20" mid, I need a 15" mid and a complete motor.
Thanks for trying to help but I'll keep looking.

I guess I should have put in my title that I needed a 15" mid. 20" will not work unless someone has a brilliant idea!

I didn't think a motor would come along immediately, but I didn't think it would be imposible! By the time I purchase a motor with a 20"mid and then having to purchase a 15" mid and lower end, I would have a bunch of money in the build. May need to rethink the motor I have. Does anyone know of a reputable company that refurbishes 1500 inline 6 cyl. Never having taken apart a Mercury I am reluctant to take on the job.

Has anyone used the vertical extension brackets offered by Bob's that would allow me to install a 20" mid mounted 5" higher to achieve the desired height I need instead of trying to find a 15" mid?
