    Hoping someone has done this.

I have a Mercury 245 Carb powerhead that i just picked up about a month ago. I know the correct way to do this is find a 260 efi setup/not so easy to find and when you have the parts that seem like it should work the wheels start turning. I am EFI guy-start easy/run smooth-so my question is. I have a complete 1997 200 EFI wiring harness /pump/tank-7 pedal efi intake and R32 225 promax ecu. Can i do this swap out with out nightmares-should it work correctly/or just stay with carbs. Thank you

The ecu will be to lean. I did that swap onto a 245 years ago with a brucato ecu and it ran beautiful. If you can run the fuel pump in the boat with a return line it cleans up under the cowl and improves air flow a bit.

Stay with carbs. If the ECU is bad, or goes bad. It,s expensive. If it,s promax style inj. it,s no faster than carbs.

What Capt Insane-O said! That engine will run great with the Laser EFI on it but you’ll need a Brucato ecu and put a good fuel system in the boat. Diamond Marine has a good how-to on fuel systems on their website
