Sorry I can't compare the two.
But I have been using a 28" Trophy Plus on a 79 Viking pad-V, and sometimes a 26" Trophy Plus. I'm told I'm not supposed to like them, but I've enjoyed them so far.
I haven't compared them to much, I've run a 26 chopper back to back with the 26 Trophy and had a similar top end, but the chopper pulled a little harder mid range and the Trophy Plus had less steering torque.
I've compared a 28 4-blade Hill Signature Eagle 4, and found almost exactly the same result, with a similar top end but a LOT more steering wheel torque, and with the added problem of the Eagle 4 having a LOT more porpoise on my setup.

id also like to know about this. I also ran a 26 chopper then the 26 trophy. Biggest change for me was the rough water handling improved significantly. I think i have a friend with a 26 promax that ill be borrowing to test so ill have some good info for you, unfortunately the lake is frozen over so it wont be until spring. From what i read im thinking it should have more bow lift then the trophy, but less then the chopper.

Look forward to seeing feedback on these 2 props.
I ran a 26TXP-OT4 at last years Parker Enduro with a modified XR4.
I plan to pick up a 28 Trophy and a 27 promax to test and compare for next years race.

Still playing with a pro max now, but havnt been able to air it out due to a fresh mota that’s a tad lean. But so far compared a trophy, I’ve found it can be run higher (I am surfacing them both). Has better all around lift mostly stern and packs the boat better and sooner than the trophy in the surfacing application. Accelerates way better and jumps up quicker. So far top end was better on the trophy, but thinking the promax will get better after raising motor and even it out. Every day running, much more fun with the pro max due to better acceleration. First thought was it was gonna be crazy fast by the way it makes the boat feel much lighter, but so far hasn’t proven to be faster. Kinda hard to really know until get mota lined out to where I’m not scared to hold it and dial in jack plate. To be continued....

People don't give thru hub props enough credit imo. I run a tempest 29p on my V-King and like it a lot. It is a fast prop with good manners all around which is hard to beat. My boat likes a lot of stern lift, and the full size hub gives that lift.

There was several OB's running through hub props in last couple Enduros.
A white Sleek and a red/white Stoker. Both running mid 90's to 102-107ish.
Packing air and carrying the bow dosen't appear to be a issue.
Running a prop that helps and supports stern lift to free the hull is a big part of set up and they diffently figured something out.

I have a similar experience as forbes. The Promax can be run higher and is a lot more responsive, especially in mid range. Since it can be run quite a bit higher the top end on the promax is better. I ran a 26 Trophy and a 28 Promax and the boat was more fun with the 28 Promax, even though the 28 was a bit much for the 2.0 135. The boat just felt lighter and accelerated faster, despite the difference in pitch.
This was on a 16 ft v-bottom with a Merc 2.0 135.
