no more autoclaves; a new procedure to heat and fuse laminates

    .

When these technologies hit the marine industry, we won't be needing autoclaves any longer...

and for builders who can't afford autoclaves for post-laminate curing, they can begin utilizing post-cure resins

nanotube blanket can be used to heat the laminates together thereby curing and fusing them together

Just curious, who are boat builders who can afford autoclaves?

    .

    Outerlimits is one

    There are many more

The good news is for those who can't afford, with this technology, they won't ever need one

I know of a Builder who's been building boats for 2 decades, he told me frankly that he won't change his procedure....so sad

I work for a aerospace company in Texas, we've got some massive 'claves. But some of our new composite rotor systems, they are working on a resin system that cures with lights. The materials are setup and then some kind of light is put on it and that cures the resin almost instantly is what I am told. I have yet to see this process or hear too much about it since it is something we are still using in experimental stuff. Anyone else seen or heard of processes like this?

yes just read a doc on light cured s glass cloth that you get get so way cheaper, I assume you can get carbon as well?
Needs a special light so you can work with it under normal lights in your shop
