WTB: Early I6 Merc LU case

I’m looking for an early Merc I6 lower unit case, casting number 1623-5886. I really only need a good case w- a nice skeg and not the internals.

    Thanks-

It is 2:3 ratio. I didn't know if the older cases interchanged or not. I know the later 850xs and 1500xs would not interchange internal wise. There is the same casting lower on ebay right now that says it has 1:78 ratio.

LC, I believe all the 1350s (70-71) were 1.78:1 gear ratio??? Where the majority of the I6s after were 2:???? But not sure if the case casting were different.
    Dave can you school me?

Being a 1980 case.... not sure.... but I think all 1/2.3 cases were pin type D/S..... the early 1.78 cases had different size /straight cut gears.....Been a long time.......SCT is looking for an early case..... How early? I may have........The early ones had small H2o pickups.... steel shafts.... blunt nose.... or a newer one with fine splines... and a Xs style long skeg????

Not sure exactly what measurement you are referring to. If it's it front to back on the top side it is 20". Thanks

Update - I was able to get a used lower unit 1623-6658 from a guy in the Wisconsin Dells area. It was an upgrade from the 1623-3912 as it has a stainless steel drive shaft. The leading edge is also larger which caused the wake to flatten out.
