    Had one in my last shop, had it glowing a few times.
    Problem is if you want fire insurance everything must be certfied with latest ratings and have it all inspected.

    The real trick with these is add a second barrel above the first. Get all the heat out of the smoke. If you're really ambitious you can weld some tubes across the top barrel almost like a boiler and really be efficient. A friend of mine built one like this and could almost turn his garage into a sauna even on a cold Minnesota night.
