Help with prop selection, Hydrostream Vasseret

I just picked up a Hydrostream Vasseret yt with a black max 150. Right now it has a custom made 24p prop that is non surfacing design and thinking I just want to change it up out of the gate. Looks like the mercury high speed scoop kit actually works well from what guys on here are saying, how close to pad will I be able to get with prop height with those scoops and my 4" of setback? anyone know? Problem is motor is a 25" version but with the jack plate it still can get to 2" below pad thinking it will run out of water pressure anyway.

Also I have heard really good things about the Trophy props, anyone know if the 26p one will spin up fine with this combo or should I go with a 25p? Any feedback is welcome and I know I am half looking for someone with a crystal ball and may just need to try things and see what happens

My first fast boat was a Hydrostream Virage with a 150XR4. The Virage ZT bottom is similar but not exactly like a YT. http://hydrostream.org/Specific%20Models/HullDesign.htm

73 mph with a 26 Hoss Hypedrive and 8" of setback. $300 used Trophies are a great place to start with props. You could buy mine.

I think you will need more setback, 8" min

I find it interesting your saying more setback and not that I just need a bigger engine. I didn’t know setback was that important at these speeds without a nose cone

More power would help of course. My Virage/XR4 was low 60's as purchased. Setback + nosecone + prop = 73 mph

I ran the propshaft around even with the pad for top end. It needed the propshaft lower for getting on a plane and normal use, but for top speed up. I didn't need a nose cone for blowout at 73, but I needed the lower water pick ups.

Well adding a 4” setback plate to my setup should be cheap and easy but which way should it go motor to setback plate to jack plate or motor to jack plate to setback plate. This would also give more height adjustment if I wanted to end up with a nose cone
