Hard parts for that drive will be very difficult. Bearings and seals not so much.

Yep closed loop cooling, they spent a heap just on AN fittings and braided hose. It's actually really nicely done.
I'm a marine mechanic so can get any parts that are actually available, we just couldn't find the drive, and everything that old is terrible to lookup on the Merc parts system. Even if shafts need doing in the drive, I can have them redone. Would much rather fix it and sell it to someone who would appreciate it but can't do the work, than see someone buy it and bolt a 4 stroke outboard or something stupid onto it.
You guys have all been very helpful so far, thankyou!

yeah its all on the older micro-fiche & you will need the full size micro-fiche viewer machine to read them. this is all every Mercury/Mercruiser Dealer had & used, up until about what...the late 80's, or thereabouts? The micro-fiche can still be around somewhere, the viewers might be a different story. Have to use a big magnifying glass, lol.

I have paper copy on the upper......nothing on the lower........I have the same #2.... came out of a Kt boat with a 427 L88.......so it will stand some power......not as good as later bigger drives. Will not fit a outboard..... that would be a MC1 lower.......A # 2 would be neat on a newer V8 Merc......Get rid of that Football.......Just who has any.... HeeHee......

Interesting but not a boat for anyone but a history buff. There would be easier ways of going fast.
