s and the front half is water cooled. I suppose the theory is IF you are going to change the front half on a OX66 to fit 6 petal you MIGHT AS WELL put the 300 front half on to also get the benefit of "Water cooling" the intake tract. Cold air is better in any event lol.
Sir you are most definitely correct. both the 250 and 300 have 6 petal reed cages and the 300 has the water cooled front half.

300HP is way more power than I need on my little 22ft fishing boat, however with the parts I have I plan on using the 250 block, 300 front half (no machining required, 300 block needs boring and new pistons, save that for another time)
300hp heads. This should produce a solid 250+hp which is more than adequate for me.

Do you guys know if the cranks can be welded and reground? One of my cranks has some indentations from rust on the #1 journal, big enough to cause an issue but could be easily repaired.
Hopefully there will be enough left over parts to create a spare short motor.
I was studying the front halves and the 250 manifold can easily be converted to water cooled as well. You just need the top plate and teh 2 side plates its all ready drilled and ready to. Now I just need to put a cold water outlet form the exhaust guide. drill tap and a hose barb.

300 reed cages also have an oil groove to promote better sealing to the petal.
