all good information. I'm wondering about the challenge part of the equation. from what I understand there's some protocol when it comes to drinks at a bar, some how some coins outweigh others and when a challenge is put up somebody wins and somebody looses. not sure how that works, fun out

I'll see if I can get in contact with my sisters boy, he's in the Navy.
Maybe he has the "lowdown" on the coins.-----------------------

The typical "challenge" related to the coins is buying a drink. You see someone in a bar that you know to be in the same military branch, department, group, etc. You challenge them to present their coin, which they should have on their person at all times. If they can't present their coin they owe you a drink. It's a point of pride that you should be honored to have the ability to carry your coin with you at all times. It wouldn't really be something as big as say the Army as a whole, but more on a unit level.
