Now what's your plans with the lower unit? Gunna replace anything? Carrier? Propshaft seals? Etc?

Yeah they look good. I tried another prop on but looks like I may have minorly damaged the beginning of some of the splines so need to file that out.

Need to examine it further. The main thing I'm concerned about is if any seals are damaged. Also this is a 25" and I run 20", so not sure what I'm going to do there either.

Don't know what I was doing wrong before; maybe it was not enough lubricant for the operator... I got the puller on straight, greased up the bolt and tightened it down so hard that I was afraid I was going to break something. Nothing. PB Blaster on it. Hit it with a hammer. Put a blanket over it just in case something broke when I was tightening. it's sitting with the splines up so it will hold the PB on the splines. Will check it out next week. Maybe put an impact on it or a breaker bar instead of the big crescent wrench.

Was tightening up the bolt this weekend and heard a pop. Thought the prop had come loose... Nope, the weld on one of the chain links broke. Time to get some better chain. Using a crescent wrench on it and didn't really think I was tightening it that much. No wonder the Proptopus company is out of business.

I have a 20 ton Harbor Freight hydraulic floor press that has 3 settings, 1. Disassemble 2. Assemble 3. Break Something.
Mostly I have ended up with setting #3
