    Need Outboard ID Help

Guys, I've got a chance to buy a 1970's Evinrude 75 horse. It's a 5 hour drive r/t, so I'd like to know more than the owner can tell me.

This outboard looks like a 15" short shaft, but the seller doesn't know a 15" from a 20". This Serial Number looks odd to me in that it has a lot of 0's and it starts with a J and not an E. The color, cover, and striping all look Evinrude to me. Can anyone offer identification of what this photo covers? Inputs appreciated!

1976 Evinrude 75hp, looks like someone pulled all the emblems off the cowling and painted it... anything could be under the cowling. The original 15in lower will have 4 round water inlets.
