    240 sport jet info needed

    I have ran across a couple motors for a steal 1st is a 240 sport jet , story with it is , said it was over revved out of water, haven't even pulled a plug yet , and it will come.with a complete drop on 87 150 that's suppose to run. They bought the 150 to swap out the 240 until they figured out bout the crank. It's a o ring block 240 with newer lectrics.

    I would like to use the 240 block and build a outboard with reg 2.5 crank and deck block for gasket heads and 16amp system. Also shouldn't it have the 7 pedal front with 5 pedal sj cages? Is there gonna b any surprises besides swapping crank? Any info on these appreciated also what block did they use to get the 240hp? Just a highly ported steel sleeve 2.5? Thanks guys

    I have one on a XB02. 32cc heads. Strong motor. Its 7 pedal. Just the crank different.

    So same crank as norm 2.5 just different spline?

    yep , I think it is 225 x block with different crank. Rates at 240 due to no hp loss thru the lower unit. hf...

    Nice hopefully when I get it home there wont b to much damage. All I know was revved to high out of water. But couldn't see any windows but still has all efi and stuff so hard see all of if
