Is there any problem with running a counter rotation engine on a single outboard application

No problem, lots of people run a lefty lower unit on their boats.

Nope works just fine... and if you get lucky most people sell lh props cheaper .. breaking up sets when everyone asks to sell just the rh prop.

Does a right hand steer boat benefit more from a right hand prop? I always thought that's the reason most small single engine boats are RH steering the RH rotation would have lifting effect on the starboard side and help balance the boat.
