    Steering Wheel Quick Disconnect

I recently purchased a used Progression 24LD and have discovered that with the seat in the optimal position for driving comfort it is a tight squeeze to get in and out between the seat and steering wheel. Is anyone aware of a company that makes a steering wheel quick disconnect that will bolt to a 3/4" taper shaft? Everything I can find online is for a standard 3/4" shaft and is weld on, I don't want to weld to my SeaStar hydraulic helm.
Picture below is from the previous owner, I purchased it without power and will be putting a new Yamaha on it.

    Thanks in advance,

    -Garrison

There is a ton of options on Jegs but I don't see any for a taper. There are some that go between the existing hub and the wheel but that would set the wheel back a bit. You could probably have a center made for one of the hex type. It's a pretty simple part and the other option is to have a tapered insert made and pressed/welded into one of the race car type. That looks like what Latham did and made the hex type insert out of stainless.

I installed a NRG Thin Quick Release onto a 3/4" tapered hub I found on ebay. Search on "Marine Boat Steering Wheel Hub Adapter Keyed for MOMO NARDI NRG SPARCO OMP" It did require a bit of machining on the outer edge of the hub to let the NRG piece fit around it, though.
