    Swivel pin off set ?

Just thinking......HeeHee.... not drinking.....What do ya guys think of offset motor in relation to swivel pin center line......to counter prop talk.......instead of a wedge on lower unit....? Maybe a 1/4 inch? Then use no wedge.

Thinking like changing the caster, so to speak? if the swivel was moved rearward it would take less effort to steer. too much it might oversteer, that would be scarey, i would guess 1 '' to notice. no steer torque would be nice!

Caster/ oversteer..... sounds like car front end talk...... But that's good because that is what makes me think of offset......but to the side that would counter the prop torque ... I mean TALK... heehee.......would change +/- with thrust......back off fast.... eeeh... not sure. Not on the skeg.....is the thought......I ran a monster spoiler on the skeg of my 2.4..... because of poor steering [ ChEeP] and I could feel the output as I trimmed in and out. The case cracked from the spoilers side thrust. Too big get the grinder out. Just playing with junk at the time.

Its all leverage. think if your prop shaft was 18'' long. the torque would be arm breaking or your steering would fail. i think most designs with a little understeer for safety. if you had a major failure, engine would track straight. but a jackplate up high fogetaboutit. we dont want to put seastar out of business, just another 1000$,,, moving the l/u forward, of the swivel like a bobs, helps imo.

    Even submerged torque happens.

Thats why why we leave kill switch’s. Boat would circle left and run you over.

I've hung the rods out of one motor and rode home with it out of the water, and the good one was still off to one side ... It didn't go very straight ...

Ok , so , ifin I take the trailer off of position A and put it offset to the ball on the right ... Is it gonna pull like B or C ...

THE trim tab is supposed to neutralize submerged torque. you must have a left hand lower, if i let go, my boat is going to right, big time!
