225 Pro Max Intake Manifold
Will a intake from a 150,200 PM fit a 225 PM? Or are they different? I know the 225 PM is a 7 pedal... Number on mine is a 12124C and my engine is a 96 225PM Thanks

Use this site to check/compare Part Numbers of Mec HP Models.
BTW: Great source to purchase parts.

Yes it will bolt up to a 225PM front.
You thinking of cutting a 150/200 EFI intake into a 7 petal?
I have done plenty just need to JB weld some reed cage holes and drill the 2 bleed valves in the correct place but you will have places/bosses that will show where they go.

Here is one I did. Actually they flow better because I clean all the sharp edges in the casting, good for 5HP....JK...
If you look at the bottom picture you can see the bosses for the bleed check valve drilled in place in the corners of bosses and JB in the holes.
If you are using in a unpainted block HDepot sell an edging prime that work well for color.
NOTE: Important to be precise with drilling so they fit tight and I use a tad of red loctite.

Has anybody ever turned a 5 reed front half into a 7 reed front half? I did this one. Too much time on my hands!!! It is a lot of work.
Side by side for comparison. I just wanted to see if it could be done.Last edited by nelson edens; 12-02-2019 at 05:10 PM.

Very nice work Nelson!
I have thought of doing that a few times but after examining things closely found it to be a bit too much work for me.
Heck even these little intake/reed holder take a bit of detailed work to do them nicely and correctly.

It is a lot of work. Machine work on the Bridgeport and hand finish grinding. I have heard that 7 reed carb front halfs are scarce. I did this one mainly to see if it could be done. There are actually a few areas that need to be filled. I did it with JB Weld. Kind of a fun job if you are bored!!!

Tony you are a much better hand grind it out person then i will ever be!!! after talking to you a couple of years ago on this make it a seven petal out of a five deal and after a lot of elbow grease and it not even closely resembling what you were doing i quietly dropped in the scrap aluminum bin and moved on very nice work from a guy who tried it

Bobby, it sure is a bit of work and time for sure!
Unfortunately since they are not easy to come by we do what we have to do........
I have developed a sequence after doing quite a few and still a PITA!
Actually like to do 2 at a time now due to mess and amount of tools used.
1- degrease the nasty ones
2- drill press for some holes
3- small air saw some chunks
4- 1/4" long stem aluminum burr bit in air tool.
5- aluminum hand file
6- 60grit paper wrapped around file
7- scotchbrite 2" pad to clean and smooth some areas.
8- drill new bleed valves holes (be accurate on holes size)
9- counter sink existing holes to better hold and JB weld them
10- scuff surface, wipe clean with thinners
11- paint desired color......pink or purple work well.......
Posting this for anyone considering or needing to on doing one!

Sure, $300 though.
You can also get a good clean used 5 pedal for $35ish and if you have ability in a few hours you can save a few $. Actually by the time I'm done they actually look pretty good and flow better. I match opening to cage....JMPO
