    Cowl pin install onto block?

Got this cowl pin and a 2.5 light weight cowl but it's not a direct bolt on. This fitting in the block is in the way. What am I needing to get this cowl pin bracket to bolt up to the top of the nlock?

I should have a modded bracket and will get you a better picture showing what I do to make them work.
Maybe you can see I cut out a section in this picture below.

BTW, you mentioned a light weight cowling and that bracket you have is from a 280 alien cowling, it will not work or line up. Make sure if you try your cowling and has the hole already it will line up.

Could you post pics of how it mounts to the top of the block at the flywheel?

It mounts to popet pump fitting behind the flywheel.
Using the popet dump that is in your picture below picture is what I do to fitting and you will also need to trim the flywheel cover a little bit if you plan to run with it. You can use a 1/4-20 or 5/16"-18 bolt
NOTE; Use a short bolt so it does not block or interfear with water flow from popet.

    Glad to help.
Do not drill and tap on the motor. Remove the fitting and drill and tap on the bench so debri does not go into the motor.
Also you will probably need to adjust the pin height.
