I've been driving diesel pickups for over 25 years, I use them to pull trailers 8,000 to 12,000 lb for my business, I have never taken any of them off road for fun that's why I have a Polaris RZR, also all of my trucks have had fiberglass toppers on them, the one I have now has been on three trucks so far. I hook up to a trailer if I need to carry bulky items.
A friend of mine bought a new pick up 2 months ago saw it last week with a damaged tail gate, last week his son said did you see Dads new pick up, oops
From what I've been reading they are several groups from Georgia Tech to Panasonic many and other company's that say new break through s are very close, I bet by the time Tesla starts selling these 600 mile will be a option, remember they are working on a semi version to pull 80,000 lb.We have invented the world; WE see

Crunching the numbers
Internal combustion engines have a few thousand parts; EV drivetrains, a few hundred. So EVs require less labor (3.7 man-hours/car compared to 6.2) and maintenance.
The warning signs have arrived:
- Mercedes parent Daimler will cut at least 10,000 jobs over the next three years as it works on releasing 20 hybrids and EVs.
- Audi’s eliminating 9,500 jobs over five years to accommodate EV development costs (though it plans to do so through employee turnover rather than layoffs).
- BMW’s trimming German employees’ bonuses after checking its last electric bill.

I like this Idea, but the rear of the trailer would have to be longer to accommodate a side by side, I have a good relationship with a local welder who could build a shell something like this out of aluminum, I got a Miller 210 with Al spool and argon to build interior, the back could have a rear door for toy hauler entrance the lower tail gate drops down as a ramp, the upper section to open upwards with side curtains to keep out rain, drive street legal side by side in rear...
Add solar panels on the roof Tesla powerwall for juice, happy camping where ever you stop, no running generators making noise and smoke Amen
I see the rear with this look < aerodynamic and functional, lower section is the ramp.
Two years from now is when the production for the big battery three motor cybertruck version will begin, I'm willing to bet you will see a major change in battery tech by then because everyone in the world is concentrating on new battery technology right now, Cobalt free lithium or even lithium free and lighter which would really help, 10 years from now they will be far better.

I don’t understand how anyone could not be excited about a truck with a 0-60 with less than 3 seconds and the ability to tow 14000lbs. Major Battery advancements happen about every 30 years and we are currently at 29 years with lithium. The next battery advancement and ice will be a thing of the past. The cars work know i didn’t realize you can drive from Florida to California in Tesla(current cars on road)with 30 min stops about every 170miles most people need to stop that often anyways. I don’t drink the cool aid from anything but honestly even don’t like Tesla’s you have to at least think what Elon is doing is interesting.
