I think your numbers are off Jim. There is no way that they will produce 250,000 of those trucks in two years. I think ten percent of that number is still a big stretch "orders mean nothing, the real world operates on deliveries". There is no question that Musk thinks way outside the box and doesn't comprehend the word impossible. I was lucky to be able to spend an hour with him about a year ago when he was looking at some property that I was involved with "for his rocket manufacturing operation". He told me at that point he hoped to get his money back on the automotive project before he died but wasn't sure that it was realistic. Everyone on this thread could retire on what he has lost in just a 24 hour period if it were averaged out since the start of the auto project "but hes not scared...".

Space x is worth 33 Billion and he owns 54%, it's believed it will make it to 120 Billion

Starlink, internet from satellites in space what is that going to be worth? just getting that together hum

Money is irrelevant to him, said to work 80 hour weeks does not take much time off at all,

Over a year ago he said He did not care if others liked it or not He wanted it to be polarizing FAR out

It's his way of getting kicks, personally I'm like you Guys when I first saw it I'm like NO REALLY, joke

    right..,

The view from the back is OMG ... 2.9 sec 0 to 60 10.8 1/4 Oh YEAH I got over it

Your argument is all over the place.

First, you said it was great because of the unibody “like no other vehicle”.

Then it was great because it uses 1/8” stainless bodywork, as if no one ever thought that different thicknesses of metal could be used.

Then it was great because of a 14,000 lb towing capacity, just shy of what an F250 can do for over $10k less.

Then it’s great because there are 250k orders, even though over 2 million lights trucks are sold year in, year out.

Don't get me wrong, I’m not necessarily against electric cars, but BS is BS and we have to be honest when discussing pros and cons of different technologies.

First off Mike I'm not a engineer for Tesla so I can't really explain the new design's intricacy, just relaying what I read,

You see the thick 3 mm SS as they state the same SS that was developed for Space X is going to be used who knows what property's it has, I surly

don't know, who does besides Tesla ? I'm just repeating what they said about why they used it, I know uni-body construction has been around a

long time obviously the way they are using the thick steel in the construction of a truck that can carry 3,500 and tow 14,000 lb has to be unique.

Over a year ago Elon stated that this model is something he wanted to do for his own personal desire and that it would be polarizing not

conventional, in his next breath he said latter they would come out with a more conventional design, like a smaller version of the semi that in

development, a Job truck if you will, this truck is like his Fantasy that he has talked about for a long time, to each their own.

I'm getting one as a retirement present to myself, I want the big battery because I plan on pulling a toy hauler out west up north wherever

These were just prototypes I'm sure they have a lot of final tweaking to do.

    It's ALL good,

Personally I think the whole thing is a publicity stunt. The whole world is talking about Tesla and Elon. He doesn't care if you love it or hate it, he cares that you know it's there. Even the "unbreakable" windows breaking. The whole internet is talking about how they "screwed up".
Not to mention the 20+ million they have in the bank interest free right now. Do they need it? Maybe not, but it's there.

    That's my 2¢

From what I can tell, the 30X alloy is a variation of 301 stainless, slightly inferior to 304 by most measures. Marketing.

While you may put 3000 lbs in a Ford and twist the frame taking it rock climbing, that will never happen to a cybertruck ... cuz all you can fit in the bed is two small bags of groceries ...

First off, never saw where they put the 3000 lbs in the Cyber, just they feel it’ll hold up??? Next how long those batteries gonna allow you to pull 14000 lbs before needing a recharge?
